Connection.

November 16: Orientation for Read-Aloud Volunteers
Wednesday
– Thursday, December 23 – 24: Volunteer as a gift wrapper at
Barnes
& Noble in Clarendon and raise money for The Reading Connection.
Ongoing
volunteer opportunities:
Read
Aloud Volunteer – spend an hour once a month reading with kids in
transitional
housing shelters.
Administrative
Office help – assist with data entry, database maintenance, and other
special
projects.
Organize
a book drive at your workplace, church, school, etc.

ABLE’s Fall Event: Good to
Great – Assessing Your Board’s
Effectiveness – One
important area
for measuring success is board performance and an annual
self-assessment of the
board of directors’ accomplishments and performance is essential.
The
event will be held on Thursday, November 5th at the Holiday Inn Old
Town.
